我经历过很多蓝色,但慢慢得我看到了一些别的颜色,后来我把这些颜色画在了我的纽约天空里。
I experienced many layers of blue. But eventually I saw some other colors too. I paint those colors onto my New York City Sky.
Sky Beyond Blue:
I paint the New York City sky without blue. I never wanted to just paint commercial landmarks or make ordinary souvenirs. Instead, I capture the emotions of the New York cityscape through non-traditional colors: the bustling energy of Chinatown, the dramatic steel lines of Dumbo, and the peaceful, quiet grace of the Flatiron building. My wish is for every viewer to find a piece of my work that matches their own personal New York.
Yes, I choose to paint the sky without blue, because sometimes, we choose our own colors. Just like when we face hard times in life, we need to believe that we still possess the power to define our own base color of our own world.
It could be a pancake, or a furry, super-duper, extra-cute little kitty. She could be a New York office cat sitting in front of the window with the Empire State Building in the background. Or, she could be a Queen Cat sitting on the sofa, proudly dominating the whole family.
They are something small, but they brightened your day. They are the little things you notice when you feel like life is boring, hopeless, or fading into "blue." They probably cannot cure your heart completely, but they will always make you smile the moment you see them.
Everyday Little Cute Something:
Blooms in Mind
A collection of botanical illustrations paired with poetry. This collection is currently in development. Through these drawings and my personal poems, I want to stand with those who are still struggling, reminding them how beautiful they inherently are, and giving them the courage to be bravely themselves.
Still Wants to Bloom
If water never comes,
if the summer never ends,
if survival means growing spikes,
if blooming never happens —
but if it does,
you might never realize
how beautiful you are becoming.
Air in NYC
After 10 years of working with bold, rich colors in my paintings and drawings, I decided to explore something truly airy.
I purposely leave certain spots uncolored, letting the paper breathe and the sky "blink." It is the very essence of Air in NYC — a light, open atmosphere where you can finally breathe easy.
